GAEA is a cooperative game that allows and encourages players to create a "Carbon Neutral" environment. Players work together as “Sustainable Developers” to build their regions with all of the necessary resources for survival. This can be done by placing the resources on the board and helping other players place resources on their territories. This game showcases the importance of sustainability and understanding carbon emissions. Another unique aspect of the game is how it incorporates augmented reality animations to determine the environmental impacts when players draw environment impact cards. The combination of digital and physical game pieces allows for an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to the traditional board game.
